Since everyone is scattered around the KC area, unless there is a strong desire to rendezvous at KIXD this Saturday, we’ll just plan on joining up at Stearman Field (1K1) around 11am.

Ross has asked to remind everyone that the traffic pattern on the field is to the West of the airport, and to inform people that Rick Nutt’s hangar is about mid-field on the East side. I’m sure it won’t be hard to find.

Airport data on Stearman Field is can be found on Airnav by clicking here.

If anyone needs a ride, seats are becoming hard to come by. Please email info@iac15.org for more information.

There are two ways to stay up to date with IAC 15, each of which has a different intended goal.

The first, and simplest is to subscribe to updates by adding your email address to the subscribe form, and pressing “Subscribe”. You’ll receive an email anytime pertinent information is posted to the website (you can unsubscribe at any time). You’ll receive updates like meeting reminders, notice of playdays, newsletters, etc.

Another way to subscribe is by via an RSS feed. This allows you to use tools like Google Reader (wiki) to consolodate all new posts to the site.

The hope is that only the most important information regarding IAC Chapter 15 ends up in your inbox, and the rest can be reviewed at your leisure.

You can download the rule book as a single PDF file or in two parts. Part 1, covers everything through Chapter 8 plus the Index; and Part 2 contains the appendices only.

You may also view the rule book directly on the website.

In addition to the rule changes adopted by the IAC Board of Directors, applicable rule changes adopted from CIVA, and numerous edits to clarify existing rules and criteria, the 2012 edition includes two major changes: incorporation of the Advanced category for gliders, and incorporation of the changes to the 2012 Aresti Aerobatic Catalogue (Condensed) including the revised Catalogue numbering system and the addition of four new subfamilies of figures: Reversing Whole Loops; Horizontal S’s; Reversing P-Loops; and Double Humpty Bumps.

Chapter 8 contains the judging criteria on those new figures.

Also, the Advanced power minimum allowed altitude has decreased and the penalty has increased for violating the minimum altitude. Advanced and Unlimited power Free program Versatility rules have also changed.

Highly recommend that you page through the entire document and look for the marginal change bars which identify all significant changes from the 2011 edition.
