MAC80 Judges School Information

For those interested in attending the Judges School in Lincoln, NE on April 12 and 13, please consider downloading the following documents.

A limited number of copies of these handouts will be available for those who do not have the ability to download or bring a laptop.

Advanced Judging Criteria Seminar

Join us on Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. for a one-day, Advanced Judging Criteria Seminar.

John Morrissey will be the course instructor and this class does count toward regional and national judge recurrency.

All interested in learning more about judging are invited to attend.

Cost of the seminar is $50 and includes coffee & doughnuts, lunch, course material, and a copy of the 2012 IAC Rulebook.

The seminar will be held in the conference room at the Commemorative Air Force, Heart of America Wing hangar located on the east side of KIXD located in Olathe, KS at 6 Aero Plaza Dr (map).

Course Description: This one-day seminar is a more in depth session than what is covered in the 2-day recurrency portion of the Introductory Course. It is aimed at previously certified judges who wish to improve their knowledge and understanding of judging aerobatic flying. The curriculum is less formal than that of the Introductory seminar, in order to encourage open discussion of the more subtle and less explicit judging criteria. For certified judges, attendance at this seminar will fulfill recurrency requirements for attending a judges’ school as defined in IAC Rule 2.6.3.

Prerequisite: Attendees must have previously attended the Introduction to Aerobatic Judging Seminar.

Who should attend this seminar:

  • Previously certified IAC Regional Judges seeking to become certified as an IAC National Judge (see IAC Rule 2.6.2)
  • Companions/spouse of competition pilots who would like to learn to more advanced concepts of judging to improve their critique skills
  • Competition pilots seeking a more in depth understanding of judging criteria
  • Previously certified Regional or National Judges who need to attend a Judges Seminar to satisfy the recurrency requirements defined in IAC Rule 2.6.3
  • Certified National Judges who need to attend a seminar to retain their National Judge privileges (see IAC Rule 2.6.3)
  • Current Judges who would like to deepen their knowledge of judging criteria.

Attention Judges Seeking Recurrency:

Annual currency requirements, including passing the annual Revalidation and Currency (R&C) Exam are defined in the IAC Official Contest Rules, section 2.6.3.

2011 Judges School

March 19th, 2011

Given the number of schools being held around the Midwest this year, IAC Chapter 15 has elected not to hold a judges school for 2011.

However, Chapter 80 in Lincoln will be holding the Introduction to Aerobatics course on March 19th and 20th, and will be taught by John Morrissey.

Details are as follows:


Location

Duncan Aviation at the Lincoln Airport (KLNK), March 19 and 20.

Meet in the Lobby at 8:30am, course runs from 9am to 4pm both days.

Course Fee

Course fee is $60 whether you are taking the Intro course as a new judge or just need the second day refresher.

In an effort to attract new judges to the sport, if you have never taken an Intro course and you are a new IAC member, the course fee will be discounted to $40.

You must download a copy of the Rule Book at http://members.iac.org/contests/rulebook.html

The Rule Book is free but you must print it yourself – Kinko’s is relatively inexpensive if you take them the downloaded disk and print b/w two sided or you may print it yourself.

You may want to purchase (not required for class) the Aresti catalog at http://www.arestisystem.com/english/store/books.htm

Cost is approximately $40.
