Hello everyone.

Just a note to inform you of a change to our meeting location on Monday, the 27th of April. The KC Aerobatic club will meet at the Gardner airport in the Vintage Aircraft Chapter 16 hangar at 7pm.

Roger Disrud will give a presentation on his experience in the A-10 and specifically on formation flying.

The Vintage Aircraft hangar is equipped with audio-visual equipment which Roger will use for his presentation; hence the change in venue for our April meeting. The program is guaranteed to hold your attention.

Also, just a reminder, chapter dues for 2015 are $25. If your dues aren’t current, Lee will gladly accept that payment.

Put Monday the 27th, 7pm, at Gardner Airport on your calendar and we’ll look forward to seeing you then.

Also, the play-day for May is scheduled. The aerobatic box over IXD will be active on Saturday, May 2nd from 09:00 to 16:00 CDT. Plan to join us a day of flying practice.

A quick reminder about the play day and hangar party this weekend.

The plan is to meet at Signature Flight Support at New Century (KIXD) at about 9am on Saturday morning (9/14/13).  The box will open at 9:30.

You’ll need to review the airspace waiver by clicking Airspace Waiver 2011-2013 Kansas City Aerobatic Club. (4.2 mb PDF) and sign the waiver before you can fly.

Later in the afternoon, John Ostmeyer is hosting a hangar party in his hangar (hangar 61) at the Gardner airport (K34).  Smoked brisket and pork butt is on the menu…

Note:  The play day will serve as the September meeting.

The October meeting will have a slightly different flavor.

We’ll be meeting at Signature Flight Support at the New Century AirCenter (KIXD) on Saturday, October 20th at 9am.

We’ll conduct chapter business at 9am sharp, followed by an open box to fly in for anyone interested.  We’ll meet rain or shine, but the box will be dependent upon weather.

This takes the place of our regularly scheduled Monday night meeting.

The November meeting will be held back on schedule at Hangar 10, downtown.

You’ll need to review and sign the waiver if you’re interested in flying in the box.

Commemorative Air Force Summer Expo

The Ghost Squadron is holding their summer Expo on July 14th and 15th, and will be in need of volunteers to handle miscellaneous jobs.  If you can help, please email Brian Von Bevern at bvonbevern@earthlink.net.  Brian will be at the meeting on Monday to recruit volunteers to help.

Midwest Aerobatic Championship

IAC 80 is holding their summer contest in Seward, NE on June 23rd and 24th with practice and registration on the 23rd.  If you’re interested in going to help out, but need a ride, let Grant know.

The May meeting will be held at the Topeka Billard Airport (KTOP) for breakfast on May 21st.

We’ll plan on meeting at the Billard’s Landing Cafe at 9 a.m.

This will serve as the monthly meeting for May, and there will be limited business discussed over breakfast.
