2012 Heart of America Wing Fly-In

The Heart of America Wing of the Commemorative Air Force will be holding their annual Air Expo on Saturday and Sunday, July 14th and 15th.

Diamond Lil, one of two flying B-24 Liberators in the world, and Gunfighter, the CAF’s P51 Mustang, will be in town for rides.

Volunteers Needed!

The CAF is in need of volunteers to help with the event both days starting at 8:45am. Duties will involve driving golf carts, helping control crowds, moving airplanes around on the ramp, or just answering questions.

If you can help out, even for just a half day, please get in touch with Brian Von Bevern (bvonbevern@earthlink.net).

June Meeting Reminder and Summer Planning

A quick reminder about the monthly meeting this coming Monday.

Commemorative Air Force Summer Expo

The Ghost Squadron is holding their summer Expo on July 14th and 15th, and will be in need of volunteers to handle miscellaneous jobs.  If you can help, please email Brian Von Bevern at bvonbevern@earthlink.net.  Brian will be at the meeting on Monday to recruit volunteers to help.


Midwest Aerobatic Championship

IAC 80 is holding their summer contest in Seward, NE on June 23rd and 24th with practice and registration on the 23rd.  If you’re interested in going to help out, but need a ride, let Grant know.

CAF Heart of America Wing Annual Fly-In

July 16th, 2011

The Heart of America Wing of the Commemorative Air Force will be holding their 10th annual Warbird Open House on Saturday and Sunday, July 16th and 17.

This year they will be hosting FIFI, the CAF’s B-29 Superfortress, and the only flying B-29 in the World.

A new addition this year will be a Fly-In Breakfast, free to pilots on Saturday, July 16th at 7 a.m.

The CAF is looking for interesting airplanes to be put on static display, and would welcome a demonstration flight from someone in our Club.
