New Leadership for 2014

December 16th, 2013

The votes were counted at the November meeting, and the Chapter has a new President for 2014.

John Wittenborn has agreed to take over as President of Chapter 15, and the rest of the elected position holders have agreed to maintain their current roles into the new year.

As the President of IAC 15 for a number of years, I’d like to say thank you for all your support for the club and your dedication to aerobatics and flying in general.  An organization like ours is nothing without dedicated members and volunteers who strive for common goals of aviation safety, education, camaraderie, and entertainment.

While a growing family has placed new demands for my time, I will still be an active member in the club and will continue to support the growth of our chapter.

On behalf of IAC Chapter 15, I wish you a Merry Christmas, a prosperous new year, and many blue skies.

Grant Wittenborn

Airspace Waiver for 2013 through 2015

November 5th, 2013

The airspace waiver over the New Century Airport (KIXD) has been renewed for the remainder of 2013 through the end of October, 2015.

Please take a look at the updated waiver:  Kansas City Aerobatic Club Waiver 2013-2015 (6.5mb PDF)

There are a few changes to the updated waiver.  The FAA has established that there are some new populated areas underneath the waivered airspace which cannot be included in the waiver.  Therefore, those areas have been excluded (from the surface on up) from the waiver and are outlined and highlighted in yellow.

The actual aerobatic box remains the same as in previous waivers.

As always, in order to fly in the box, you will be required to read, understand and sign the waiver log at each playday or contest.

Send an email to info@iac15.org with any questions or concerns regarding the waiver.
