Lee’s daughter Ronda called me this evening (Apr 22) to say that Lee was moved from the hospital to Olathe Hospice House today. He is not able speak at this time, but she said he clearly recognizes people who visit, and would welcome any visitors, even as early as tomorrow. The address is:

Rod Flinn visited with Lee today. His report follows:
I visited Lee this morning at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Lee is allowed visitors and he was clearly happy to see me. Having said that he was not able to speak although he tried several times.
Rhonda, his daughter, said that he had not eaten today or yesterday. He is very weak, and while he can hear and see was not able to speak or gesture while i was there.
I would encourage anyone who is interested in visiting to do so, as it clearly cheered Lee up, but they should be aware his condition is not good. Having said that, he still has an eye for the ladies.
Good afternoon. I’m sad to report that our long-time IAC member Lee Crites suffered another stroke this morning and is currently hospitalized at the Shawnee Mission Medical Center at I-35 and 75th St. Doctors were trying to determine the damage and course of action. The family has been notified. I’ll keep you all appraised of Lees condition and whether he can receive visitors. For now keep him in your prayers.

Hello everyone; just a short note to wish you all a very joyous holiday and Merry Christmas. IAC15 had a busy and fun year with chapter meetings the 4th Monday of the month and play days the first Saturday of each month from April through October, a fly-away breakfast in November and, of course, hosting the Harold Neumann Barnstormer contest in August. Our club was well represented at nationals this year as well. I’d like to thank you all for all the excellent help throughout the year. We’ll look forward to more fun flying in 2016.
Looking to the near future, we will have our last meeting of 2015 this next Monday, the 28th of December. We will announce our new chapter officers for 2016 and talk about general ideas for a contest and judges school. It is my hope that many of you will be in town and be able to attend. Also, our holiday Christmas party will held next month, January 9th at the Wittenborn home starting at 6pm. Please RSVP for that event to jwittenborn@gmail.com. we’ll publish an address and map to the Wittenborn location next month.

Weather will be excellent for flying. Lots of sunshine; high around 65 degrees F and we’ve even arrange a slight cross wind (ENE @ 10-15kts) for those who can’t see the runway when landing your airplane.
