Chpt15 Up-Coming Events

July 22nd, 2014

Good morning everyone. As the Summer heats up so does our chapter activity schedule. We enjoyed a superlative (albeit abreviated) play-day the first saturday of July. The local weather cooperated until noon, so we took a break for barbecue lunch (thanks to Beverly Wittenborn) and headed for the hangar. A good re-cap of the play-day event can be found on the chapter news letter.

Make a note of our monthly meeting coming up next Monday, July 28th; 19:00, at the Signature Flight Support terminal building, 2nd floor conference room. Dave Peuster will present a program on the care and use of parachutes and an update on FAA rules and procedures. Contest director Greg Shetterly and I had lunch last yesterday (7/21) to review what has been done and what needs to be done for the up-coming Barnstormer contest. We’ll bring the chapter up-to-date on progress for the contest; an informative meeting as well as an important planning session. So, Please make an effort to attend.

The next play-day is scheduled for August 2nd. 9am-5pm. The NOTAM is in que for the KIXD Aerobatic box and the insurance has been requested. We’ll hope for good weather. I know this coincides with Oshkosh but for those who will be in the area, plan to come out and fly.

See you Monday…..that is all

Play-Day Rescheduled

June 11th, 2014

Hello everyone. Since the gods rained on our play-day last Saturday I’m rescheduling the event for Saturday, June 28th. This play-day will not only be our rain reschedule but it will take the place of the July 5th play-day as well. The aerobatic box over the New Century airport will be open to registered IAC pilots from 9am to 5pm. We will gather on the West side of the field at the Signature Flight Support FBO. Once again, fruit, juice, coffee and cereal bars will be available in the morning and burgers and brats will be the fare at high noon (food donations accepted). Area pilots and friends interested in learning about aerobatic flying and participating in IAC activities are invited to join us as well. Come on out to the New Century airport and join us for a day of fun flying.

Also a reminder for our contest pilots of the Seward, Ne. contest June 20th thru the 22nd. Put that date on your calendar as well.

Our next Chapter 15 meeting will be held June 23rd (the 4th Monday of the month) also at the Signature Flight Support facility on the West side of the New Century Airport. Preparations for the Harold Newman contest will be on the agenda.

So, make a note of the above dates and we’ll see you then.

Get together at John’s hanger

September 12th, 2012

John Ostmeyer will be firing up the grill this weekend at his hanger in Gardner.  Come join John for some brats and adult beverages as we get ready to close out the contest season with the US Nationals in another week.  The grill gets lit at 4pm, but the beverages start when folks show up.

John’s hanger is on the east end of the Gardner Municipal airport, on the south side of the red hangers.
